Frank
Needham
-
born in North Wales in 1948. After
obtaining a BSc in Economics at the University of Wales, Frank was employed as a manager in
the building society sector for over 12 years. He became General
Secretary of the in house union at National & Provincial (NAPSA) from
1984 to 1997. During that time, Frank was chair of the Federation of
Building Society Staff Associations and subsequently Vice Chair of the
Financial Services Staff Federation.
Since 1987 Frank has been a Partner and subsequently a Director
of Network. From 1997 to 2008 he also worked for the finance section of
the union Unite and its predecessors, responsible for the union’s
building society members and from 2006 for Northern Rock plc. Frank was
Chair of the Mutual Interest Partnership from 2000 to 2009 and was Chair
of the Alliance for Finance, which represents 15
unions with members in the finance sector, from 2009 to 2011.
Frank's
principal areas of interest include training on employment law and
practice, communication and negotiating skills, handling redundancies,
team building and management development. He has experience in political
lobbying and organising campaigns, as well as trade union organisation
and recruitment.
